Botox is the most popular anti-aging cosmetic in North America. It is a Health Canada-approved medicine that Fayez Spa’s doctor Kim Ireland injects into patients’ facial muscles to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a more youthful appearance.
How does it work?
Botox is injected into specific sites to neutralize certain muscles that cause frown or laugh lines. It relaxes the muscles and causes the wrinkles to disappear. Botox was originally developed as a preventative treatment for debilitating migraine headaches and to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in any part of the body. Dr. Ireland treats all these conditions.
What does it cost?

The procedure usually takes 10-20 minutes and patients can immediately resume routine activity.

Within a few days of Botox injections, lines and wrinkles reduce or disappear and continue to do so for up to ten days.
Are there side effects?

Restylane and Perlane are known as “fillers” because they restore volume and fullness, re-contour facial features, and soften deep creases in the skin. Both are formulated with a clear gel hyaluronic acid that acts like your body’s own hyaluronic acid to stimulate collagen production. The gel particles in Perlane are larger than Restylane and the depth of injections can remedy more severe skin creases and provide greater volume to certain areas.

Dysport is a prescription neuro-modulator favoured by the Hollywood set because its obvious benefits are faster and last longer – as proven in clinical studies. Key injection points around the eyebrows and eyes block nerve signals to prevent contraction of the muscles that cause lines.
Like other injectables offered at Fayez Spa, Dr. Kim Ireland performs this treatment. Successful outcomes are predicated on the skills of the doctor providing injections and Dr. Ireland’s expertise is widely renowned based on wait lists, advance bookings, and increased number of Dr. Ireland’s events scheduled at Fayez Spa.
How long it takes?
Depending on the areas treated, the time varies but usually ranges from 10-20 minutes

Minimal discomfort may occur. If a client is particularly sensitive, she/he should purchase a 30-gm tube of Maxilene to apply prior to treatment.

What Dysport costs?

How it works?
Selphyl is a novel concept treatment. In essence, Dr. Ireland takes a test tube of blood from clients and centrifuges it with a patented gel separator system. The red blood cells are separated from the platelets and plasma. Then, the plasma enriched with platelets is injected back into areas of the face, neck and decolletage where static lines appear. It stimulates one’s own collagen to fill in static lines, scars, pock marks, etc.
How long it takes?
The entire procedure takes less than hour.
Is it painful?
The injections may cause temporary discomfort. To minimize discomfort, clients are advised to purchase a topical anesthetic to apply prior to the treatment starting. Occasional redness or bruising resolves quickly.
When will results appear?
You will see almost immediate results however, the volume can increase up to 4-8 weeks following treatment.
How long treatments last?
Longevity varies with each client – extent of the procedure, areas treated, and number of sessions. A second treatment is often recommended 8-12 weeks later, and results can last up to two years.
What Selphyl costs?
Costs vary based on the number of tubes injected, and start at $1200 as the introductory special rate. Dr. Ireland’s consultation fee of $150 is waived if treatment is provided at the same time.
